Work Arrangement: Onsite
Clearance: Active TS/SCI required
Legion Technical Solutions is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer – Integration & Test to support a premier program within the Space Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance mission area.
This is a hands-on opportunity to help integrate, verify and validate an advanced software-based ground system supporting critical national-security missions. You will work alongside systems, software, hardware, DevOps and test engineers to integrate new capabilities, automate system testing, troubleshoot technical issues and help deliver reliable solutions across the development lifecycle.
If you enjoy working directly with complex systems—executing tests, analyzing failures, writing automation scripts and helping engineering teams solve difficult integration problems—this role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful technical contribution.
What You’ll Do
- Support the development and delivery of advanced ground-system capabilities as part of a cross-disciplinary engineering team.
- Perform system integration, verification and validation activities within the Systems domain.
- Work as a member of an Agile Release Train in a collaborative, cross-functional program environment.
- Develop system-level test plans, procedures and automated test scripts.
- Execute functional, integration, regression and verification testing.
- Evaluate software functions, system behavior and internal and external interfaces.
- Help develop and maintain test environments that support system verification.
- Identify technical issues during software and hardware integration.
- Troubleshoot and debug system-level failures in Red Hat Linux environments.
- Analyze logs, test results and system behavior to isolate the source of defects.
- Partner with software, systems, hardware and DevOps engineers to develop and implement solutions.
- Verify corrective actions and help ensure reliable system performance across releases.
- Collaborate with program customers and engineering stakeholders throughout the integration and test lifecycle.
- Contribute to Agile planning, execution, demonstrations and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics or another related STEM discipline.
- At least five years of relevant professional experience.
- Hands-on experience performing system integration and test engineering.
- Experience integrating and testing software products in an Agile CI/CD environment.
- Experience with regression testing, test scripting and test automation.
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging complex software-based systems or products.
- Experience working in Red Hat Linux environments.
- Experience developing scripts using Python and/or Perl.
- Experience supporting software development within a relevant mission domain, such as:
- Command-and-control ground systems
- Satellite ground systems
- Mission-management systems
- Space-based Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance platforms
- Active and transferable U.S. government-issued TS/SCI clearance before the start date.
- U.S. citizenship and continued eligibility to maintain the required clearance.
- Ability to work onsite in Aurora, Colorado.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting satellite ground-system development or operations.
- Experience with command-and-control, mission-management, ground-system or space ISR platforms.
- Experience working within a DevOps or DevSecOps environment.
- Experience supporting an Agile Release Train or SAFe development program.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket.
- Experience with Cucumber, Gherkin, Zephyr or similar test-automation and test-management tools.
- Programming experience with Java, C++ and/or Python.
- Experience working with Linux-based systems and cloud-hosted environments.
- Experience developing or configuring system integration and test environments.
- Experience collaborating directly with government customers and cross-functional engineering teams.
The Opportunity
In this position, you will do more than execute predefined tests. You will help determine how complex capabilities should be integrated and verified, build automation that improves testing efficiency, investigate challenging system behavior and work with engineering teams to carry solutions through resolution.
You will join a technically sophisticated program where system reliability, disciplined engineering and mission success matter.
